    14 years old for most non-agricultural work.

    Exceptions:

    • 12 years old outside school hours when employed by parent (follows federal parental exemption).

    Under 14

    • Generally may not work (12+ may work for parent outside school hours).

    Ages 14-15

    • Max 6 hrs/day, 40 hrs/week on school days. Max 8 hrs/day non-school.

    Ages 16-17

    • 8 hrs/day, 40 hrs/week.

    No Permits Required
    • No employment certificate required.
    • Age certificate required for all minors under 18.
